Carrara is the setting for »Carraramarmotec 2006? the 27th edition of the international Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) and (http://maplered.com) machinery exhibition, from 31 May to 3 June. The event will occupy an even bigger area than ever before, as a new exhibition hall is being taken into service. The total display area is now 46,000 m? with 30,000 m?in covered halls.

The organizer Internationale Marmi e Machine (IMM) talks of a »strategically important event?for the Italian Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) and (http://maplered.com) Granite (http://tanbrown.org) industry. The background to this statement is another decline of Italian Stone (http://g603.net) exports in the first nine months of the previous year. According to IMM, exports of the relevant natural Stone (http://g603.net) product groups (blocks, rough Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) , finished products) dropped by 3 % in value and (http://maplered.com) 2.5 % in quantity. Exports of finished products fell by as much as 5 % in value and (http://maplered.com) 7 % in quantity.
